CAROL RIVERS

Carol’s family hails from the Isle of Dogs, a horseshoe of land on London's Thames estuary, once a huge shipbuilding and engineering powerhouse of industry. As a child, she would listen to the adults spinning their colourful tales of olden times and it was this magic of story-telling that inspired her to write about these tightly-knit, seafaring communities of England’s famous capital.
